Last weekend was like a tease of fall. The weather was my kind of perfect. Temps in the mid-high 60s, not too windy, and plenty of sun (I guess I could've done with a bit less of that). It seemed like the perfect kind of day to spring [fall?] for a Pumpkin Spice Latte...except I'm not supposed to have caffeine. Or so says the Headache Specialist I'd been seeing. But I decided to throw caution to the wind and have my first coffee in half a year. Now I could've just went with decaf or made some pumpkin spice hot chocolate or something, but where's the fun in that? I know, I know; I live on the wild side.
It was so good, I wanted to jump right back on the coffee bandwagon, but I'm thinking I'll just reserve it for an every now and again treat for right now, instead of an everyday necessity. I gave it up with little difficulty. Doc recommended zero caffeine, I went like two days with half of my normal amount and then dropped it cold turkey. That weekend, I crashed. Come like 1:00 Saturday afternoon, I was spent. But that was the worst of it.
After running some errands on Saturday, we made it a stay-at-home evening. Colby and Zharo are warming up to each other more and more, and it is beyond adorable to catch them in situations like this.
Sunday, after our normal morning cleaning, we headed out for a walk at Mt. Airy Forest.
I still find myself surprised at the hiking that's available literally right around the corner from our condo. That's one of the things I do love about Cincinnati, the mix of urban and nature that seems omnipresent throughout the city.
Oh, and since we were out, we decided to make a taco run to Gomez Salsa. Swear, I could eat a turtle every day and never get sick of it. #YouHaveToTryIt
