Wednesday Weekend Wind-Up: Skystar

Y'all, I have not done very many weekend wind-up posts this year for the mere reason that we hardly do anything on the weekends anymore. I've loved how the Skystar Wheel looks with the Cincinnati skyline, and we've talked about riding this since I learned about it being installed. As our Friday night dinner conversation started to evolve toward a restaurant very near this ferris wheel, I decided to purchase a Groupon at the last minute.

Figured we could use a date night! We were going to do dinner first, but we were walking right by the Wheel and had stopped to take pictures there anyway. I'd thought it would be a good idea to ride it at night, but evening seemed just as good. We were literally the only ones, so we had it all to ourselves.

Honestly, it's a novel thing to do since it's only here for a limited time, the view is kind of pretty, but I'm glad the Groupon got us a discount and it only cost $10 a person.
We made four rotations, so it was $2.50 per person per rotation.
A few more people had lined up as we started our final rotation. We maybe could've stayed on and went around some more, but we hopped off when the doors opened. It went by pretty quickly, but I imagine it goes slower when there's more people and you have to load them on.

We went across the street, and Francisco thought this picture would be Christmassy as f*&%.
We concluded the evening with a delicious dinner at BurgerFi. I love that they have a Beyond Burger, their Urban Style fries are amazing, and I could've done without the sprinkles on my Strawberry Shake, but other than that, it was amazing, too.

After dinner, we darted across the river into Kentucky to get a photo of the Cincy skyline. It looks beautiful situated on the river like it is.

This is more just the Friday wind-up cuz' we didn't do much the rest of the weekend We played a game, watched YouTube, danced, ate Taco Bell, I edited videos, watched TV....our usual uber-exciting weekend shenanigans. We can definitely be big homebodies, but some of us don't have a single problem with that at all...
