7 Continents Day 2018

Another year, another 7 continents feast! We are now on year 3 following the completion of our goal of visiting all 7 continents, and we always celebrate with a meal featuring a selection of food from all of the places that we've visited.

This year, we started out with a breakfast of Fluffy Japanese Pancakes for Asia [since we kept seeing them featured on YouTube videos]. Unsurprisingly, they ended up being a bit too eggy for me.
Francisco also got started on our French dessert for Europe early in the day.
He'd reached out to his family to try to get the recipe for a Chilean corn dish that had been served at Thanksgiving, so a Corn Pudding (Humita) was our South American dish.
We made Egyptian Style Feta Cheese Balls for Africa, which are decidedly more of a 'circle' than a 'ball'. [They should be renamed lol.]
Since we wanted to keep it simple and enjoyable, along with our plate of feta cheese balls and creamed corn, we split a Boomerang's Spinach & Mushroom pie from Australia. I do remember how much they love their savory pies there! We thought about making one ourselves, but figured we were cooking enough from scratch, it was fine to just buy a frozen pie.
Along with our requisite cup of ice for Antarctica...
we also had Rum and Cokes for North America. Apparently, this drink originates in Cuba, and we haven't been there yet, but we used Coca-Cola and Bacardi rum, and I've been to Atlanta and Puerto Rico, so all's good lol!
Keep an eye on my YouTube channel [click here to check it out] where I'll be posting our weekend vlog soon, so you can see how we celebrated 7 Continents Day this year in more detail - and check out what the French dessert was and how it actually turned out!
