Aliquid Lacquer Review

I recently won a giveaway hosted by the Mercurial Magpie.  The prize was too polishes of my choice from the Aliquid Lacquer shop.  Prizes like this are secretly very stressful. At first, I'm like "yes, any polish that I want!"...but then I'm quickly like, "oh no, how do I choose?! so many pretties." And I start Googling swatches and finally, finally narrow it down after many arduous hours. ;-)

After much debate, I ended up with Make a Wish, a light blue/grey cream that even seemed slightly mint green-ish in the right light. The polish is speckled with lots of little copper flecks. I definitely went outside my polish comfort zone with this one (this comfort zone is very, very purple), and I wasn't too sure how I would feel about this polish...but I liked it! It was a little funky, and it's good to wear something that's unique once in a while.  Application was easy - two coats, and the wear time was really good. Several days later, you could hardly see any tip wear.

My second choice was Quiet Night, a blackened purple jelly with multi-colored flecks.  This is the kind of deep purple that's right up my alley. Application was just as great as it was for Make A Wish, but I did start seeing tip wear relatively quickly. That's not uncommon with jellies though.

Thanks again to the Mercurial Magpie for introducing me to a fab indie brand, Aliquid Lacquer!

  1. I had to laugh at this line- "(this comfort zone is very, very purple)" I can TOTALLY relate....just add blue and teal in there too, haha. Glad you liked these, they both look amazing on you!
