The texture is a little hard to work with because it's so thick. You have to scoop out a little hunk and then rub it between your palms to liquefy and make it more spreadable.

The shea butter had a very strong smell that comes across as somewhat smoky. My husband likened it to cigarette smoke, and he didn't like it one bit. If used appropriately, the shea butter can be very deeply nourishing and moisturizing to your skin. Its consistency is quite different from a normal lotion and can take a little more effort to use. If you are sensitive to smells, this product might not be for you. However, it could make a great base for creating your own cosmetics at home and adding fragrance yourself!
