July 2014 Glossybox Review

July 2014 Glossybox Review
Glossybox is a beauty subscription service that sends subscribers a monthly box with ~five deluxe-sized beauty products.  The box itself retails for $21 per month, but you can subscribe to a plan that bills you every three, six, or twelve months, which brings the monthly cost down to $20, $19.17, or $18.33, respectively.  They provide the best presentation I have seen in a monthly subscription service with high-quality brands bundled in a a sturdy box! July 2014 Glossybox Review
It's no secret that Glossybox has hands down become my fave subscription box. The featured brands have all been top notch! July's box features products designed to rejuvenate and recharge as we combat the height of summer.
The Aloe Source Jojoba Radiance Cleansing Polish, $4.48 [$30.00 for 6.7 oz; sample size: 1.0 oz]
This gently exfoliating cleanser uses a combination of jojoba microbeads and alpha and beta hydroxy acids with nourishing aloe vera to soothe skin. It had a light, fresh scent and worked well for both morning and evening use.

GLAMGLOW YouthMud TinglExfoliate Treatment, $20.29 [$69.00 for 1.7 oz; sample size: 0.5 oz]
This mud mask was designed as a 10-minute 'facial in a jar' to exfoliate, tighten pores, smooth texture, and reduce fine lines. After applying a thin layer to a clean face, you skin will feel a bit tingly. After 10 minutes, you can remove the mask with water, using circular motions to exfoliate.  It is comprised of French sea clay, volcanic pumice rock, and pieces of green tea leaf, so it has a bit of an odd texture and I ended up with muddy flakes of tea leaves stuck to my sink. The texture makes it slightly difficult to apply, but that wasn't a huge issue. Overall, it had a pleasant smell, and my skin definitely felt smoother after using it.

SKIN INC Custom Blended Brightening Serum, $45.00 [Full-size = 0.34 oz]
Because I am going to Japan in just over a month, I loved that this product was from there! Skin Inc an innovative skincare brand that allows customers to create custom-blended serums based on individual needs. This particular product was a blend of three proven and potent serums that Skin Inc offers - Vitamin A, Chlorella, and Hyaluronic Acid - and helps to improve skin tone, hydration, and translucency. There is no added fragrance, and three drops (the recommended amount) was the perfect amount for my skin.

Philip B pH  Restorative Detangling Toning Mist, $11.35 [$24.00 for 4.23 oz; sample size: 2 oz]
This leave-in hair toner adjusts the pH of tap water to seal the cuticle of your hair to help leave hair smooth and shiny. It boosts manageability with Apple Cider Vinegar while a blend of essential oils detangles and helps control frizz.  You can use this product on wet or dry hair, and I used it most often on wet, freshly washed hair in the morning. It did seem to make my hair a little easier to manage, but it has a somewhat stale smell that is a little unpleasant.

Malin+Goetz Mojito Lip Balm, $6.86 [$12.00 for 0.35 oz; sample size: 0.2 oz]
This hydrating lip gel can be used for daily maintenance, treatment and prevention of dry, chapped lips. It had a light fragrance, and it felt so much more nourishing than a normal lip balm.
Malin+Goetz Mojito Lip Balm
Ciate Paint Pot, $15.00 [Full-size]
I had a little bonus tucked into my box that caught me off-guard at first...and then I remembered that I had used a promo code that included a complimentary nail polish when I renewed my subscription.
Total Value: $87.98 ($102.98 with Ciate Paint Pot)
If you are interested in signing up for Glossybox, please please sign up using this link. It is a little more costly than other subscriptions, but I have been loving it so far!
