April 2016 Birchbox Review
It's the little things..Birchbox recently started including a foam pad at the bottom of their box instead of the simple tissue paper they used to have. Somehow this makes taking pictures so much easier...I guess cuz' things aren't rolling around as much. But anyways...here's another super cute box for April!
MALIN + GOETZ Grapefruit Face Cleanser and Vitamin E Face Moisturizer, $2.00 & $1.15 [$32 for 8 oz; sample size: 0.5 oz and $46 for 4 oz; sample size: 0.10 oz]
This clear cleanser had a mostly neutral, almost slightly unpleasant fragrance - I'm thinking that was just maybe the bitterness from the grapefruit. It forms a very light lather and did a good job of cleaning without stripping. It came with a bonus sample of the face moisturizer, which had an almost alcohol-like fragrance.
amika un.Done Texture Spray, $3.40 [$24 for 5.3 oz; sample size: 0.75 oz]
This hair spray had a pleasant, sweet fragrance. It definitely adds texture.
Benefit Cosmetics Dew the Hoola Matte Liquid Bronzer, $4.48 [$28.00 for 1 oz; sample size: 0.16 oz]
Well, I was excited to see a Benefit product, but not so excited that it was liquid bronzer. I don't think I'm anywhere near ready to take my bronzer/contour game to a liquid level. It smells nice, and it smooths on to the skin easily. It is definitely matte, a deep tan shade that is good for a sharp contour, but it's a little difficult to blend seamlessly.
rms beauty the ultimate makeup remover wipes, $1.60 [$16.00 for 20 wipes; sample size: 2 wipes]
These wipes smell like real coconut, like you almost want to taste them, lol. They are thick wipes, but they don't really feel saturated with the makeup remover. If it's cold, you'll need to warm them up in your hands first or the coconut oil will be too hard. They definitely didn't work to remove all of my mascara.
Also, I know Birchbox has allowed you to choose one of your samples for a while now, but this is the first time I ever was on the website at the right time. I think I thought these were nail polish remover wipes when I selected them, but oh, well.
The Beauty Crop PBJ Smoothie Stick - Guava Nice Day, $14.95 [Full-size]
This was a surprising win for me, only because it seems like I don't like 9/10 of the lip shades I receive in boxes. This lip crayon had a fruity scent to it, and it applies smoothly. It's a mostly matte berry shade.
