April 2016 GLOSSYBOX Review
This box elicited two 'oohs' as I opened it to look through its contents, and a bonus: it smelled really good. Read on to see what caught my attention.
Not Your Mother's Haircare Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray, $3.00 [Full-size]
This texturizing hair spray smells very tropical. Following the instructions, I sprayed a generous amount through damp hair, combed through, and let my hair air dry. The result was very dry feeling hair that was quick to tangle. I don't need to add a product to enhance what my hair does best naturally. :-P
Studio 10 Brow Lift Perfecting Liner, $20.00 [Full-size]
I was pretty excited to see a brow product included in the box. I don't think I've ever received one before. The brown shade was a good color for me, and it applied easily. My brows can be a bit unruly, so this product alone usually wasn't sufficient.
Biossance The Nourisher, Precious Rose Face Oil, $10.08 [$72.00 for 1 oz; sample size: 0.14 oz]
This little bottle of oil definitely smells like roses. I used anywhere between 1 to 4 drops in both the mornings and evenings, either mixing with another serum or applying alone with a moisturizer on top.
Unani Dermo Defense Face Mask, $18.00 [Full-size]
This face mask smells really nice, kind of like a sweet floral. It dispenses as a clear gel that dries to a tight, shiny, slightly tacky finish, and it rinses off easily when it's time to remove.
Leighton Denny Expert Nails Nail Polish in Pillow Talk, $19.00 [Full-size]
Of course I was excited to see nail polish. I used two coats of this nail polish, and application was really smooth. It held up fairly well for a good couple of days, but I can be kind of rough on my nails, so I ended up with a couple chips. The color is a little hard to describe. Francisco perceived it as just red, but I thought it had more purple properties. The Leighton Denny website actually describes it as a "deep pink with more than a hint of wine", and they have it listed on the Reds nail colour page.
Total Value: $70.08
