A Cincinnati Scenic Railway at the Krohn Conservatory

A Cincinnati Scenic Railway
I recently won free tickets to A Cincinnati Scenic Railway at the Krohn Conservatory.  This is a holiday-themed event that ran from November 16, 2013 through January 5, 2014. Special event admission prices were $7 for adults, $4 for children, and children under 4 were free. Thank goodness it extended for that final weekend into the new year or we might not have made it in time.  December ended up being a remarkably busy month!

I've been to the Krohn Conservatory once before, but that was several summers ago now. Regardless of the season, I always enjoy visiting here. There are over 3,500 plant species from around the world showcased here as well as a rainforest waterfall and exotic plants. It is fairly small, so it doesn't take much time to walk through the Palm, Tropical, Desert and Orchid houses, but there are so many neat things to see.  General admission prices when there are no featured events are $3 for Adults, $2 for Children, $1 for Seniors. You can also download a $1 off coupon from their website.
Krohn Conservatory
A railway loops around above visitors' heads and there are several iconic Cincinnati landmarks. Everything was beautifully detailed and impressive to behold.

We both really enjoyed checking out this featured event along with the normal greenhouses.
