Studio Gear Mineral Wet and Dry Powder Foundation #studiogearcosmetics
Product: Studio Gear graciously sent me three products to review:
a) Mineral Wet/Dry Foundation in Cream,
b) #3 Domed Foundation Brush, and
c) Revitalizing Day Serum.
"Dual Identity Wet/Dry Mineral Foundation is a true revolutionary advancement in beauty. These loose minerals provide all the benefits you've come to expect of a normal mineral foundation enhanced with the improved application, feel, look, and performance you love from your favorite wet, dry, or liquid foundation. It's versatility makes it the perfect makeup for all seasons.
Studio Gear Cosmetics is a prestigious cosmetics brand featuring a full collection of professional makeup brushes, revolutionizing complexion formulas, and a wide selection of color products for the eyes, cheeks, and lips. This is a line created true to the concept that every woman deserves professional, high quality cosmetics at a reasonable price.
The Studio Gear Professional Brush Collection is the core of the line. Made only from the highest quality hairs and hand-tied for unbeatable quality, women around the country are using this collection to enhance their makeup application and express their creativity with precision. Customer loyalty is ensured through a lifetime product guarantee and with over 40 tools, everything from basic to advanced techniques are covered."
Use: After applying sunscreen/moisturizer, I applied the Revitalizing Day Serum. As I'm used to applying serums before moisturizer, I was a little surprised that the directions instructed you to follow this order; it's almost as if you're using the serum as a make-up primer. The serum seems very moisturizing and helps provide a hydrated foundation for applying the mineral powder.
I used the #3 Domed Foundation Brush to apply the foundation. The brush itself was soft and dense, although the domed shape didn't seem the most effective at distributing foundation.
I had selected the color Cream for the Mineral Foundation, and this seemed to be an okay color for me although it was maybe slightly too dark. This foundation provides light-medium coverage, and it's buildable, but overall, I found the coverage to be uneven and it would cake up in some areas. I used a damp Beauty Blender after applying the dry powder, and this helped to even out the coverage, but the BB dried out more quickly than if I was using a liquid product.
Verdict: My favorite thing about the Foundation is the matte coverage it provides. The humid weather we've been having this summer leaves me with oily skin in what seems like minutes after applying liquid foundation. I would prefer greater coverage though, but this is a great option for the summer.
