June 2014 Glossybox Review

Glossybox is a beauty subscription service that sends subscribers a monthly box with ~five deluxe-sized beauty products.  The box itself retails for $21 per month, but you can subscribe to a plan that bills you every three, six, or twelve months, which brings the monthly cost down to $20, $19.17, or $18.33, respectively.  They provide the best presentation I have seen in a monthly subscription service with high-quality brands bundled in a a gorgeous, high-quality box! If you are interested in signing up for Glossybox, please let me know and I will send you a personal invitation.
June 2014 Glossybox Review
June's box arrived shortly before the 4th of July, and it couldn't have been more perfectly timed. This Stars & Stripes box featured five products that are all made in the good ol' US of A.

Sumita Beauty Champagne Eye shadow Pencil, Sample Value: $18.00 [Full-size]
This eye shadow pencil glided on really easily, providing a light, pretty golden tan color with a slight shimmer. The description says that it's crease-resistant, but I found that it definitely creased by the end of the day. I've been using Too Faced Cosmetics Shadow Insurance as an eye shadow primer, but I am betting that the LASplash Eyeshadow Base featured in the April Glossybox would work loads better paired with this pencil. I really liked the color and only wish it would stay put longer.

Rusk Texture Dry Finishing Spray, $7.00 [$7.00 for 1.5 oz; sample size: 1.5 oz]
This hair spray smells really good, vaguely coconutty. It didn't really seem to work any wonders for my hair though.

Ayres Patagonia Body Butter, $4.15 [$28.00 for 6.75 oz; sample size:1 oz]
This thick lotion has a lightly herbal scent...which isn't my favorite, but it's light enough to really not be unpleasant.

Camille Beckman Platinume Gold Imperial Repair Hand Therapy, $4.50 [$20.00 for 6 oz; sample size: 1.35 oz]
This hand cream had a fresh, lemony scent. This is perfectly travel-sized, so I didn't use too much of it, figuring it might come in handy on my journey to Asia this year.

STRANGEBEAUTIFUL Library of Color Colorbloc, $18.00 [Full-size]
Arriving just in time for the 4th of July, this little red and blue duo applied smoothly, although I found the small size of the bottles a little difficult to work with.

They worked perfectly for the base of my holiday nails.  The blue had a slightly purple base, and the red was slightly orange though.
Total Value: $51.65 (This also came with a gift card to C. Wonder for a mystery amount - I went to the website to check mine, and it was worth $5.00, so the total value would be $56.65.)
I had purchased the three-month subscription to get me started, and I've enjoyed it so much that I've gone ahead and renewed for the next three months! If you are interested in signing up for Glossybox, please let me know and I will send you a personal invitation.
